OK, so I'm a little late with this story (it was dated Sept. 22), but I found this in the Dallas Business Journal:
Ex-SMU quarterback joins Giuliani Partners as VP
Giuliani Partners LLC, the New York-based consultancy founded by former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, has named a second prominent Dallasite to its ranks.
Mike Romo, a former quarterback for Southern Methodist University, joined the firm as vice president of strategy and business development. He will oversee the development of commercial and governmental offerings for Giuliani Partners.
"We brought Mike on because of the depth of his management consulting background to help continue to grow our business," Giuliani said in a statement.
Romo previously was a sales executive for technology services provider Electronic Data Systems Corp. of Plano and also had worked in sales for El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC Consulting, another IT services provider.
At Southern Methodist University, Romo was the first player to sign a letter of intent when the university reinstated its football program in 1989. Romo graduated from the Dallas institution in 1992 with a degree in finance.
Romo became the second Dallasite to join Giuliani Partners.
When the firm was established in January 2002, the former New York mayor brought on board his friend and fund-raiser Roy Bailey, a Dallas insurance executive, to handle investments and oversee business development. Bailey and Giuliani met during Giuliani's short-lived run for the U.S. Senate in New York, according to reports. Bailey is a partner at the security consultancy.
