When interviewed after the game, Hood put forth the famous quote of, "I responded like an Aggie."

Enough said to that.

This past Saturday was the FIRST time I'd ever seen the video to that.

The aggie kicks the downed cheerleader before he gets pushed down. On Texags I saw where people said he never actually assaulted anybody. I guess they need to watch it again!

Thanks for the link. Mucho appreciate it.

Notice how the cop runs straight toward the SMU cheerleader and grabs him, like he's the dangerous one.

Excuse me, Officer. The guy who started the assault - the one waving around a deadly weapon? - he's over there.

Wow, I wonder how quickly UCMJ proceedings would go against a West Point cadet who dared to do such a thing...

Like I even have to say this, but...A&M is no West Point...not even close.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

What struck me most about that incident was talking about it to Aggies afterwards.

A typical response I got from about a third of them was..."what cadet did was wrong, but what the SMU cheerleaders did was also wrong, there are rules and he was simply enforcing them"

Who knows what my Aggie friends said among themselves, but I suspect they were more supportive of Hood than they let on.

I do remember some alums showering him with gifts afterwards.

As for me, it simply upheld my life-long belief that I would rather support the pot-smoking hippies from Austin over the jack-booted storm troopers from College Station.

Those aggies and their stupid rules.....when I was at SMU I went to C.S. to go to the SMU/a$m game w/a high school friend who was an ag. He was showing me around campus and I was going to take a short cut and walked off the sidewalk to go across the grass and, oh my gosh, you would have thought I had murdered someone! He had a fit and started telling me their rules, etc. and I looked at him and told them they were ALL F*ed up!!!!!!!
