Charleston, I would agree with you except there are a number of TCU sources who seem to indicate that they want out of CUSA because we joined. The MWC will NEVER get to be a BCS conference and you can take that to the bank. If the Big East somehow is decertified, the BCS would just split the pot fewer ways, and won't add more mouths. The MWC has not had a BCS qualified team (Top 15 ending polls)since BYU in the early 90's. And they certainly haven't averaged at least one every two years. The WAC and the MAC have come closer than the MWC to that goal. So it is a lateral move. TV money will not be a big gain especially when you look at travel costs for revenue and non-revenue sports. Attendance might get a boost short term, but if they add Fresno and Hawaii, TCU will be relegated to the bastard step-child division (TCU, UNLV, Fresno, Hawaii, SDS, UNM) while BYU, AFA, CSU, Wyo, Utah are in the Northern Division probably with Boise. Remember this is the group that left the WAC because the WAC didn't want them to play in the same division every year. The deal makes no long term sense. And we know from personal experience how well SDS, Fresno, Hawaii and UNLV draw in the Metroplex. Add in games at altitude, tough travel, Patterson's reservations about joining, late night games for TV, and Thursday games (thus removing players from classes Wed., Thurs., and Friday) and it really looks like a crazy decision. Either the Frogs are buying pie in the sky predictions of BCS inclusion, or they just want to get away from us. I think a big part of it is the latter. So, drop them from the schedule. They'll be begging to be put back on in a few years.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
