RB to transfer to UTEP

Postby Ikus » Fri Jan 23, 2004 3:25 pm

ESPN is reporting that UCLA running back Tyler Ebell is transferring to UTEP.
Anyone ever heard of this guy? Know anything about him?

TCU was hoping to get him.

In other words, the clock is ticking before the Froggy Faithful issue their decree that TCU never had any interest in him.

Seriously, though, what this sounds like to me is that Mike Price's name is going to make some players who draw interest from other programs will start to give UTEP a good look. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Miners jump back to respectability more quickly than many of us think.

He set UCLA's freshman rushing record, so it sounds like UTEP might have itself a talented RB.

Put this kid in the same backfield as the QB Jordan Palmer (Carson's little brother) and you have the makings of a pretty good offense, as long as Price can get some linemen to block.

Sure sounds like it. Who would have thought the day that we might be really worried about UTEP? I know, we lost to them last year, so we should respect/worry about everyone. But they weren't the most imposing team in the world in the last .... well, ever. But a stud QB and a stud RB certainly make for a good start.

Guess we beter get used to it as they may very well be joining C-USA. By the way Palmer was hurt when they beat us last year and did not play
