Hall of Fame

I know the athletic department is getting to it; but once they construct a Hall of Fame (it's about time), who should be the first person inducted?

Eric Dickerson. If we were to do it this season, it could be blown up that it gets mention on Monday Night Football (a little playful ribbing between Al Michaels and Dennis Miller and Dickerson.) Could get huge national publicity, if it's played right.

How about one for each sport:
Football - Doak Walker
Basketball - Jim Krebs
Men's Soccer - Coach Schellas Hyndman
Women's Soccer - Kara Lee
Swimming - Steve Lundquist
Diving - Scott Donie or Krista Wilson
Golf - Payne Stewart
Tennis - Richey Reneberg or (coach) Dennis Ralston
Track - Michael Carter

Forrest Gregg. He was great as a player, both at SMU and in the NFL. In addition, he was instrumental in getting us back on the map when he took over as coach and then athletic director during the most trying time in our program's history. Coach Gregg is the very definition of a hero in the history of SMU athletics.

Raymond Berry. Good enough for the NFL Hall of Fame, good enough for ours.

Dandy Don - you can't forget him. And if you're putting Eric in there you have to put Craig in too. And how about Jerry Ball and Jerry Levias? And Lance McIlhenny. And Jon Koncak. And Doc Hayes, the most successful basketball coach SMU ever had. Ira Terrell.
