Big time athlete that had an offers list a mile long coming out of HS. Transferred from Aggy to Tyler JC last year and spent most of the season on the bench. Big knock on him has always been that he lacks polish as a passer, big arm though.

Based on what I've read so far, he's eligible this year. Should have 3 years of eligibility.

Very highly rated out of high school. I wonder if he will beat out Burcham

Yea, I just looked into it. That sounds right.

He was very highly regarded coming out of HS...should be great competition for the starting QB spot this fall. My one concern would be about his fit in June's scheme- I believe the knock on him was his accuracy and obviously June's system is predicated on a QB being accurate

Looks like we have our starting QB. According to reports he had a really good JUCO year. I think just because he was a dual threat QB that he got typecast as not being accurate. 3 years to play.

played in only 4 games at Tyler JC-wouldn't be surprised to see him another position. Athletically is off the charts. Also missed Junior year in high school due to ACL. Hasn't played much competitive football

The film and the stats say he's not all that accurate and wasn't asked to do much in the passing game. A lot of one-read passes and scrambling when the first option wasn't open. He's the type of guy better suited for a run-heavy spread option system.

Could end forever the meme that it is hard to transfer to SMU based upon his agricultural leadership and development major at A&M

even in high school he only passéd for 1400 and ran for over 900 as a Senior. I'd put him at Safety where his height and superlative speed for big guy could get him to the NFL

Agreed. Athletically, he is extremely talented. But on his film (albeit his high school film, he could have progressed since then) I didn't really see any of those "thread the needle" passes. Lots of quick, short passes (because those worked so well for us last year), and a couple of lobs where his receiver went up and got the ball (because we have so many of those big receivers here). Reminds me a lot of Cole Beasley's high school highlights.

With that being said, I would still love to have him here. If JJ can turn him into a great QB, awesome. If not, I'm sure he can be the dynamic receiver we desperately need
