I would put money on SMU if the line keeps getting wider.

So the greater the odds of it not happening, the more you want to bet on it? The Texas lottery and Vegas love that mindset.

Especially to a private school only 100 miles away from our campus. June Jones vs. Big XII at SMU - 0-9 with an average margin of defeat of 27 points. Six of the losses in the last two years. Basketball starts in November!

Yep, it's absolutely embarrassing . . . as an alum, I should be proud of at least THE EFFORT (we put up a good fight against TTU in the opener last year and I didn't feel they were that much better than us . . . it's going to get 1989 ugly against Baylor and it pisses me off!).

I'm a sunshiner, I readily admit that, but I just don't see us going 2-10. Maybe JJ really has checked out, but his career record doesn't suggest he's ever had a team that bad, save for his first year at SMU and second year at Hawaii. I still think in whatever way we eek out 6-6 and make a bowl but maybe I'm crazy.

My first instinct about this year is going 8-4 again, beating TCU and going 6-2 in conference. The team is expected to be way better in 2015 and by then I could say 10-2 might be possible.

Sounds about right. 49-14 or so. Too lazy too look it up but we haven't even been close in any openers except maybe the Tech game @Tech with Padron if I recall.

The line is a reflection of the different states and trajectories of the two football programs. And it's quite amazing to think how Baylor got to be this good given it IS Baylor, it's recent history before briles got there and that it's in freaking Waco (I suppose Lubbock is worse?). Just don't understand how they get top recruits there but it's astonishing. Yet, its also as much an indictment on SMU how poor our football program this long into jones' tenure.
