Just an SMU football prediction.

Postby Glenn Sosbee » Sun Jul 27, 2014 2:00 pm

We are probably not going to beat Baylor in Waco (or anywhere else) week one. I would like to think we beat North Texas, but that away game also keeps me up at night. I guess Neal Burcham is our starting QB to start the year? Let's say he starts both of those games and we find ourselves 0-2 with the Aggies up next. Doesn't June Jones have to go with Aggie transfer Matt Davis against his old team? Of course he does.

SMU will upset Texas A&M at Ford Stadium with Matt Davis at the helm and that victory will inspire us to beat TCU as well. We have TCU's number anyway and it's a home game. Suddenly we are 2-2 and legit. The two season saving victories will propel the ponies to win 6 of their remaining 8 games to go 8-4, with a Bowl victory to follow.

Oh, and Neal Burcham will transfer.

Just a prediction.

How do we have TCU's number? You clearly haven't been around the last 15 years...............

Compared to any other former SWC team now in the Big 12.

To be fair, we do usually play TCU pretty close except for the games that get out of hand.

Hey pal I was in Fort Worth when we had the big win because our defense saved the day. Google McDermott kicks TCU's [deleted].

We've only beat them 3 times since 1998. I wouldn't exactly say we have their number.

He does have a point. In the 24 or 25 games the two have played since the DP, SMU has won six. :D

I was also sitting next to Blake McJunkin's two awesome sisters for that huge win in Ft Worth. It was a huge win and I can promise you I've been around a lot longer than the last 15 years. I've seen it all when it comes to SMU.

Marginal O line experience and no depth coupled with little D line experience and no depth. No QB experience in an offense that demands high level QB play. 4-8 is the best possible result and we will be fortunate to have that record.
