SMU/Rutgers replay on RIGHT NOW

Postby Dement-ed » Tue Jul 29, 2014 6:28 pm

on ESPNU

Still in first quarter. Beau Barnes just made a sack, and the announcer started talking about Barnes, saying "he's 6-5, 270, has athleticism, etc." or something like that. Then the ESPN graphic pops up and says BB is 238 pounds. Maybe they took his info from his redshirt freshman year?

Damn, those blue jerseys look awesome.

Announcer just said that had to be "best 2-point conversion in the history of college football." Absolutely no way to argue.

By the way, we all knew we'd miss Gilbert when he graduated, and we do. But holy smokes, this game is making me realize how much we'll miss Jeremy Johnson. I didn't see everything from the stands, but in this game, he was ridiculous. Caught everything. Rain his a-- off after catches. Looked like he'd throw up after the touchdown (and the instant replay review allowed him to catch his breath. Another part of the game I didn't realize that day.)

Man, I hope he sticks in the NFL. I used to think he's a good player. He's a great player.

Both, and it doesn't matter. Disappointing final score and disappointing season record, but that was an unbelievable game.

We're getting excited watching a replay of an almost year-old game that we lost. Football season needs to get here ASAP

I was there, and stayed till the end. Although I must say, I was embarrased watching it on TV.

Looked like 3k people in stands in the 4th quarter. I know we were down by 21 earlier in the game, but on TV, it looked B.A.D.

I love to argue that we are P5 worthy, but with crowds like that, we are most definitely a "have-not".

The thing that jumped out at me from this game was the ineptitude of our kicking game. Do we have any new recruits that help our fortunes in this aspect of the game?
