Thanks and Farewell, Mustangs

Postby Waco Bear » Mon Sep 01, 2014 9:39 am

I've enjoyed hanging on your board for the last week or so, Mustangs. You've all been quite hospitable. Good luck the rest of the way. One piece of unsolicited advice: fire Jones. Baylor has been where you are (recently). Briles changed us because the man exuded optimism and confidence, and was able to sell hope to recruits and donors when there really was none, at least none that anyone else could see. It is depressing to even see Jones on YouTube, and the rate at which he was throwing his own players under the bus in the post game presser was shameful. Rid yourself of him. It will cost you money, but you have it (How many other schools in your conference have a billion dollar endowment?). Use that advantage.

Thanks and good luck.

You won't find much disagreement on Jones from anyone around here.

Sorry we couldn't give you a game and we have let this staff run us into the ground. Nice stadium (but lose the sign - its kind of tacky) - and look forward to seeing you on the Blvd next year with a fresh start on the SMU side of the ball.

p.s. - If any of your fourth string guys aren't getting any time and want to transfer send them our way.....

I just hope Baylor hold NW State scoreless or it could make SMU look worse.

I really liked the stadium's configuration, but not a fan of the fake-brick, tarp facade that covers the wall abutting the field. Looks like I'm not alone:

Just surprised they would spend that much money, but cut corners on something like that. It was glaringly obvious from where I was sitting.

Stadium isn't finished. The "brick" is temporary, I believe.

Gotcha, thanks Waco Bear. I probably only noticed it because I needed a distraction from the abomination I was witnessing on the field.

You weren't the only one. It got several mentions on Twitter. Regardless, Baylor did a fantastic job on the stadium.

I was talking about the McLane sign on top. Surprised the donor would want something that garish, or that the university would allow it.

Setting is fantastic - will make Baylor a much better place. Now all they need is a new city.
