How sick was the school of Jones?

Postby JasonB » Fri Sep 12, 2014 2:56 pm

No insider information or anything like that, but....

- First day of practice, release videos of hard hitting, kind of a statement.
- Use of social media, another statement.
- smumustangs.com releases a new, updated layout the day after the move. Another statement.
- The title of mustanglockerroom.com is "Welcome back".

Sounds like a lot of people were glad Jones left... the last two have to be more than a coincidence, right?

Its kind of strange. Yes. I thought the vid being distributed on the social media channels was great but at the same time, weird

maybe using this is an opportunity since we have a lot of eyes on us right now (as the only school currently looking for a HC).

Either way, it is a great job by Hart and staff to make these changes. I applaud the coaching staff for adapting as well, and putting their own stamp on the team.

It shows promise for our coaching hire (IMHO)

Better question is how sick is ponyfans of people not being able to move on from constantly talking about Junesus?

Who cares Jason. Move on

Our best coach choice may already be here.

Lets wait and see what happens. Love what I am hearing and seeing.

Id imagine Mason is doing this to prove his worth some. I know he'd like to land a HC gig.

I didn't know Chad Morris worked at SMU.

I think the welcome back was for the blue and old school style jerseys coming back and being for sale.

I could believe he wasn't sick of SMU at all. I would believe he was sick of coaching.
Big difference.

This all ties together with team performance - we know talent is down overall, but to get destroyed by UNT and look that bad - best case the team quit on the staff, worst case they just threw the game. Based on what has happened after, they may have quit on Jones, not the staff overall.

This is at least the 2nd or 3rd time I have seen a comment like this? Why do we think the players gave up because of coaching? June is supposed to be loved by all his players. Remember sadness and stunned in the locker room after the announcement? So why would they stop playing for for him?

i don't think they quit on Jones.

I think something that MAY be apparent is that the practices lacked intensity. Once JR, Klemm, McKnight, Gantz left, there was no intensity at practice on the offensive side of the ball.

I suspect that with the ramped up intensity of practice, we will see an offense a bit more prepared for the speed of a game when they step on the field.
