He made some nice throws and he moved around well when the pocket collapsed. He has intangibles and we need to see what he has. He needs to play and get the experience so we can find out what he has going forward. And A&M recruited him as a QB.

I'm dumbfound how anybody thinks this guy should play. I've seen him play all downs in each game-he has absolutely no clue what to do. He's supposed to throw the ball in 3-4 seconds-the offense has already been dumbed down to remove the reads. He never got rid of the ball a single down on time in any play of the game

He has almost no reps in the games this year and you assume he has no clue in that limited amount? What do you expect from a guy who has been in this system for such a short time? Corey Chavous spoke fairly highly of him. We are going nowhere-find out what we have in him the rest of the year.

Like to see Davis take some handoffs for some outside runs were he doesn't have to think to much. Also like him to receive the ball behind the defensive line were he doesn't have as many defenders to avoid then show his run ability.
Our OL held the pocket pretty well for a good share of the game making opportunities for down field passes that Stich doesn't doe well. He does well on the short routes and Cincy knew this and was keying on those routes.
I think Cassel would have been the better choice today with his strong throwing and his ability to through on the move. Especially early, maybe Davis latter when the OL started breaking down.
Lack of scoring, at least, was partly Morrison's bag today considering how the last game practice went.

Davis would be the best RB on the team.

We need to change our offense entirely because Davis can't run the simplified version of our offense. The guy simply isn't a passer, he has no clue how to make reads or move in the pocket and his downfield passes look just as lame as Krstich's.

He should have transferred to Navy. I think he'd be more compatible with their offense. He looks lost out there in this offense (although most of the other players look somewhat lost as well).

Davis isn't a passer and our receivers can't catch. Perfect match.

Davis is actually the prototype for qb's at most of the winning programs in college football. There are very few "in the pocket, accurate" passers. There are a lot of chain movers. Dak Prescott, Bo Wallace, Blake Sims, Nick Marshall, Trevone Boykin, Everett Gholson, where are the stand in the pocket, accurate passers in that group? They are all top 25 qb's.

Dak Prescott, Bo Wallace, Blake Sims, Nick Marshall, Trevone Boykin, and Everett Gholson are all pretty accurate. Dak is more of a pocket passer that a runner imo.

They are accurate because their teams run the ball. Georgia Tech has a very accurate qb because their running game is so effective. Nick Marshall was recruited to UGA as a db even though he was as an all state qb. They had Aaron Murray, a deadly accurate pocket passer so Marshall didn't fit their system. He wound up at Auburn and played in the national championship game. UGA recruited Cam Newton as a tight end. Not accurate enough for their system. UGA hasn't won the SEC in years but they do produce accurate passers. Auburn had erratic qb's who win championships. Wasn't Bo Wallace a transfer from Central Arky who came with Freeze? He was not a highly regarded qb prospect.

Accuracy can be taught with the right system.

Kristich is accurate I guess, but he is not a playmaker. You can see that Davis is a playmaker.

Newton and Marshall all worked on accuracy as did Boykin and they are now good passers.

There really isn't a benefit to playing Davis in this offense. Looks like we are stuck with some version of the run & shoot and Davis is lost. As for him being compared to Dak Prescott, Bo Wallace, Blake Sims, Nick Marshall, or Trevone Boykin, we will not find out anything about him in this offense, other than how well he runs trying to get away from the rush. Maybe he will be better suited to the new coach's offense.

Actually all of those guys can play both inside and outside the pocket. Davis is the prototype for any QB that has no idea how to play QB (which is why he's the backup to a walk-on).

If anyone that mattered thought Davis was of the mold of the qbs mentioned he would likely still be at A&M or at least not at SMU.
