Bosworth actually committed to SMU after the SMU Arkansas 17-17 tie in 1982. Did you know that?
We also had a real shot at Heisman winner Tim Brown.

Didn't know about Boz. Knew about Brown from an old ESPN the mag article which went back and looked at former number 1 recruits and where they are today. Brown said his mother saw the whole recruiting process going to his head and decided he was going to either West Point (I think) or Notre Dame. He picked Notre Dame. Worked out for him, I think.

Can't wait to see Thad's film. Already spread it around on Facebook.

Yeah, I remember reading that and how he hinted he was behind some other hijinks while "working" at an auto manufacturing (Chevy, I think) plant.

Seem to remember the recruiting of Brown involved stuffing him in a closet in a coach's office when reporter or ncaa fella came around unexpectedly...but then again, I'm getting old and may not have this right.

I was fortunate to see the early version of this story about 2 years ago. What I saw then was outstanding. I can't wait know Thad has had a duple of years t expand and improve it.

This will be great!

I am biased, but I do feel like Pony Excess was the best and highest quality film out of the series. The b-roll and the way it was shot was awesome. I love how the interviews were shot straight on instead of at an angle. It felt intense and somewhat intimidating. The scene of Ron Meyer in Craig James' house calling the NCAA is classic. Damn good documentary.

I think I remembered hearing that SMU had offered Brown $50k just before he decided on Notre Dame. Makes one wonder what the Iri$h were paying in those days
