SMU: The short list appears to be Clemson’s Chad Morris, Ohio State’s Tom Herman and Oklahoma’s Josh Heupel. Names like East Carolina’s Lincoln Riley, Rice’s David Bailiff and Arizona State’s Mike Norvell could join the list. They’ll be some retread buzz like Mack Brown and Houston Nutt, but that will be more to pacify boosters.

Tulsa hasn’t opened yet, but it will essentially have the same list once it does. Could get interesting as these two AAC schools fight over candidates.

Best guess? Herman for SMU and Morris for Tulsa.

I think Morris could be the one because the luster is fading at Clemson since they are second to FSU and the offense has struggled at times leading him to leave while he is a hot commodity.

I think their staring QB was out with an injury recently. I think we have good shot to get him.

Surprised to see them mention David Bailif. Doubt that would ever happen.

If Morris decides to move on from Clemson, I do not see him heading back to Tulsa IMO.

No offense to Tulsa (it's a nice school), but SMU is a way better gig.

i also doubt that tulsa would pay as well as we can. IIRC their coach is only making 900k or something like that. Besides, Morris said that he really misses Tex-Mex food. Doubt he will find much of that in tiny tulsa.

While I doubt it will happen (we want to make a splash), he would be a great hire. The job that he has done at Rice is outstanding.
