stop wondering about coordinators doing a lot of recruiting-do you really want your coordinator spending a bunch of time on recruiting. The Head Coach will set the work ethic and supervise recruiting. Each coordinator will hit the recruiting trail in the spring and have a lot of input on recruits on their side of the ball. Its the other assistants that need to be doing most of the recruiting. Yes Head Coaches and Coordinators should be involved but you don't really hire at those positions based upon how hard they hit the recruiting trail.

A little confused. If what you say is true, how did Herman (the OC of one of the biggest programs in the country) become the Rivals 2013 Big 10 Recruiter of the Year and National Top 25 Recruiter?

This guy was the recruiter for JT Barrett (Texas 4 star soph QB currently starting) and Dontre Wilson (4 star DeSoto superstar). If he's just working that much harder than the average OC, and convincing Texas recruits to go all the way to Ohio, even more reason we should consider moving this guy to the top of our list, if he is indeed interested.

Assume that one of the active coaches mentioned above gets the job and after finishing the season including a bowl with the current employer as projected by ESPN.

Here are the bowl game dates per the Week 9 projection.

Bailey (Rice) Gilden NM: 12-20
Heupal (OU) Advocare V100 or Russell Athletic: both 12-29
Morris (Clemson) Capitol One: 12-31
Reilly (ECU) Chick-Fil-A: 12-31
Norvell (ASU) 12-31
Herman (OSU) Citrus: 1-1

No reason for a new hire to hang around for a bowl unless he is in the playoff.

He was the guy with the Texas roots. Ohio St doesn't blanket Texas so its really a minor part of OSU recruiting. Go on Rivals and check out his "target" list-its not that big. He had 2 commitments in 2014 and has 1 this year. 3 of his 4 in 2013 were in his "home" state Texas. Ohio St comes to Texas to look for speed
