I am just saying we do not know what will happen in the future. Realignment is almost impossible to predict. You give SMU 10 years of TCU type success, then who knows...

I think those in power realize we have to get this hire right to make sure we are positioned for the next (possibly final?) realignment.
That's what I take away from that more than the Big XII chatter that is being laughed at on Twitter right now.
Not so sure we'd land in the Big XII, but who knows.

The only long term sustainable solution for the football program in P5 inclusion. SMU cannot continue to operate outside of it. So whoever can get us closer to that goal I'm all for it.

I could see the Big 12 adding G5 schools but they won't be SMU. Cincy, Memphis, UConn, UCF, and USF are higher on the totem pole for the Big 12 than we are. TCU's presence makes SMU an absolute zero percent chance.
