Richmond/Villanova is on the SNY network. Two top twenty teams in the FCS. It is an old fashion defensive game. A fun game to watch

A&m tied at 7 with Louisiana Monroe in the 2nd. I think an upset there would make my weekend

Temple 14
ECU 3
Half

Get this Temple only has 2 First downs and 48 yards. ECU has 17 First Downs and 236 yards. How does that happen. Turnovers have cost ECU 2 TDs ECU has 3 Turnovers Temple None

Absolutely HORRIBLE helmets on aggies. Look like WWII tanger helmets and no indication of who they are anywhere.

Aren't they honoring a team from the 30's today?

The 1939 championship team. There sure a lot of empty seats in Kyle Stadium. Aggie faithful, baby!

Interesting, A&M's closest game that year was against SMU. They won, 6-2. Here's the story.....

That brought them to their closest game of the regular season, a 6-2 home win over 6-3-1 Southern Methodist in the rain. SMU fumbled the ball away at their own 10 yard line in the 2nd quarter, and Texas A&M cashed the opportunity in with a John Kimbrough touchdown dive. In the final quarter, SMU blocked an Aggie punt in the end zone, but the punter fell on it to keep the damage to a safety. On the last play of the game, SMU threw a bomb to an open receiver, but the ball went off his fingertips, and Texas A&M escaped with the win. A&M outgained SMU 127 yards to 77, but SMU evened things up by outgaining A&M by 65 yards in kick returns. The real difference between the teams was SMU's 5 turnovers to A&M's none.

Those 1939 throwback helmets and uniforms do not look good. Look kind of like Michigan's helmets on the front. I believe some teams back then had those white wings on the front of their helmets for visibility back then or so they say.

Football wise, throwback uniforms do not work if it is beyond the sixties. For me the uniforms during the leather helmet era just don't translate well, IMO.
Baseball seems to be the only sport that the throw backs work.
