I did not lose the bet. Chad Morris is our coach. But I will buy CenTx and BOP some beers to celebrate, all in exchange of peace. Deal?

This would be the first SMU football coaching hire since the DP that checks off all the factors you need to excel a private school in Dallas, Texas assuming he hires the staff I expect him to do. Count me in. Now you guys can blame idiots like me if this doesn't work out

Seemed like the perfect hire from day one and it's refreshing to know it looks like everything came together.

Ok - since we are in the mood, how about 1.5 million to muschamp for DC?

Longest stop in his coaching career looks to be 4 years. Hopefully he turns this ship around in time before he bails.

I don't think that is out of the ordinary for a coach working his way up the coaching ladder

This guy has been pursued by several other programs. Those that said we are hopeless obviously saw less in us than Morris sees. This will get really interesting as assistants start getting announced.

I actually offered you a secondary bet that if he was hired this year, I'd shut up about youbeing a welcher and forgive your debt, but if you lost, you and your aliases would be relegated to the other sports board. Mrydel wasn't happy about that.

You chose not to accept or respond. You still owe me.

That said, glad to have Morris on board.

I think if the numbers and length are correct, SMU surely should be able to negotiate some protection is the nature of a declining buyout which would be pretty high in first 3-4 years at least

Sadly I'm not sure he'll have the talent to really warrant another job until that point anyway.
