This graph is not even slightly reliable as far as SMU goe . It doesn't consider that a transfer prevented 2 consecutive 1-11/3-9 years

Stallion has pointed this out several times, but every non P-5 school is littered with transfers. Even Rice. They all would have done equally worse without transfers.

Well yeah, but I was pointing out the significance of gg because He is pretty much the lone reason JJ was not shown the door earlier.without him, we are looking at 4-32 since 2012

Take away any non-P5 starting QB in a scheme that revolves around that position and you have pretty much the same answer. How would Padron done without McNeil? How would our defense have been without Moore or Crawford? If you took away all of those players we never ever make a bowl.

we aren't talking about the same thing. you're listing off key players and I'm saying this one player was the difference between .500 and being in the bottom 10 every week like the 2014 season. This was pretty evident after he got hurt in the USF game. Obviously if you take away all of the key players it will be disastrous. The difference is if you take away just 1 of the 2 out of moore and crawford, the season isn't over. There were no developed backups behind gilbert and he did more than his share of opening up the passing game by running and throwing receivers open.
