How many scholarship's does Morris have to work with

Postby OldTigerMan » Wed Dec 17, 2014 7:33 pm

Hi guys, haven't had a chance to get over here since Morris left ( been to busy loving the way the Gamecocks have been crying doom and gloom about their de-commits) but I was wondering with the players that have already committed to SMU how many scholi's does Morris have to work with this year?

Technically there are only 13-15 schollies available, but if he can get 25 guys, he'll sign 25 guys. We currently have 12 commits; 3 of which Morris is already responsible for.

Two of the three are Hunter Herndon and D'erren Wilson.

Third was Michael Scott. He committed, then de-committed after June fired. TCU offered and he was about to commit there until Morris & crew made their in-home visit and convinced him to re-commit and re-join his brother. 10 offers, including 7 - P5.

We beat out OU for Hunter and Wilson had around 10 other offers.

Cool. I wasn't up to speed. I know Morris has been active but wasn't sure about the results to date.

The 3 he landed all have some quality offers. A class full of these types is what we should have been having since 2011 with a 4 star every once and a while - sort of what TCU's classes have looked like (nothing extremely flashy, maybe 1 or 2 here or there but certainly just full of quality across the board . . . look what they've been able to do with that consistency . . . I think Morris et al would be able to do the same especially in the AAC which is better than the MWC when TCU was in it now that Memphis and ECU have turned things around - UCF is pretty much a P5 level team the way I see it). I'm hopeful for a .500 type year next year (with the talent on the roster that would be "out playing") with some exciting offense and a bit higher average home attendance, followed by a monster class, and a bowl year and the momentum starts going. Get back into the national conversation and even a realistic top 25 type team in 4-5 years. Who knows. Exciting to think about. But we've all got to . . . #lockArms!
