Makes sense to me...rotate through the teams from the East every other year.

But we're rotating through the east every TWO years, which is why I find it odd....

Same as when we were in CUSA. Same as the Big 12 when it had 12 teams. Same as the PAC-12.

I just hope the F-18s don't strafe the grassy hill, and start a fire like they did in Bennett's
debut :!: :!:

Attendance during last visit to Ford Stadium

Baylor: 29,538 (2005) will be sold out next season. 35k (I could see 60-70% SMU fans due to Chad Morris debut game) 1st home game and baylor is a top 10 preseason favorite.
NTSU: 20,517 (2007) SMU will be looking for revenge, if we look competitive vs baylor expect a good turnout. 26-27k
Tulsa: 15,336 (2012) I could see this being better than 15k... probably around 18-19k, most likely more if this is family weekend
Tulane: 20,106 (2011) similar attendance, especially if it is assigned as hc game.
East Carolina: 13,626 (2009) I would make this the homecoming game. ECU is a much better program and the draw should be better than 13k
Temple: 15,786 (2013) temple is an improving program but not one that many ppl know about down here. probably worst attended game

by the way, thank you for posting the attendance numbers, sbsmith

Season tickets are around $100 for certain seats. I expect to see an insanely infective and ubiquitous advertising campaign for this upcoming season. Challenge the student body and local fans to get to the games. Get people out into he boulevard to give tickets to revelers who don't have them. Get cheerleaders around campus on Friday and Saturday to get out and push attendance. Make games and gameday an event atmosphere. Upgrade outreach to local teams to get their players and parents there. Anything that can be done must be done to promote the team and increase attendance. Maybe I'm crazy...but I am actually interested to see what they are going to do to attain this.

The most important point made so far is that alumni and locals and STUDENTS need to get their asses in the seats and make this home environment a benefit...not a detriment to the team. While this team and staff does need to show the fans they are all in vs. prior years, the fans owe this upcoming team their support. Without it, all will amount to wasted time, money, and youth.

Well, that'll be a little harder with no UCF or Cincy for two freaking years. Those are the two teams that people in DFW may actually recognize.

Man I'm generally realist/pessimist and your negative attitude depresses ME. There's tons of positives to focus on, no need to reiterate every possible bump in the road

I was just making a point that we won't see them for two years. Calm down

I hope you are right about an engaged effort to sell tickets. It's now or never; $100 season tickets is a great selling point to a casual college football fan. Need to promote the Good Sport tent as the place on the vard to be pregame.

I have spoken to fellow alumni at work that currently do not have season tickets, and their first reaction was that they did not know tickets were $99 and that it's very well priced. Working on getting them to buy and get a nice big group going.

Not real numbers for the last four teams.

I expect every one of those figures to be up in 2015 except for Tulane which I expect to be down from 20k.
