people seem to forget that he was only pulled when he lead the nation in turnovers including several Pick 6s. He was a turnover machine and SMU was like 0-5 or 0-6 and he was hitting on about 45% of his passes at the time. He was having a horrible season when he was benched especially with regard to turnovers. Then he decided he wanted to leave and wasn't up to competing for the job. He bailed-he failed to perform

He definitely sucked at SMU and then rocked in D2. Not sure who's to blame for either.

Is he elite? No.

Is he a successful NFL QB? Well, he has stuck longer than most.

Maybe your paradigm is what's causing your mind to be blown. The NFL is not a charity. They only keep those who can genuinely play.

He won't kill you with stupid mistakes. He's like a poor man's Alex Smith. Game manager, nothing else.

And doing something that 98.4% of college footballers wish they could have. And that's 1.6% of college players even getting a taste of the NFL, much less hanging around for 12-13 years.
