Perhaps he gained maturity, perspective and a work ethic later in college and that's the difference. I have heard that sometimes happens.

Best bad example of a guy who stuck around as a backup and who was terrible? Babe Laufenberg. Oh, and he's terrible in his 2nd career as a sportscaster, too. Funny how you can suck at two jobs and still make a pretty solid income. Wish I could have parlayed my ineptitude at all things sports into a long career, too.
