To go along with Cory Roberts

Postby WildHorse » Wed Jul 12, 2000 3:03 pm

Giving credit where credit is due, mustangmaniacs.com is reporting that two other sold WR prospects are considering SMU. They are:

Ronnie Prude
Shreveport, LA
6-0
175 lbs
4.34

Leonard Jones
Stillwater, OK
6-0
185
4.4

Does anyone know anything about these guys? Roberts, at 6-4, would be a nice addition. But if these 40 times are accurate, these two undoubtedly will be better college players. Has anyone seen either of them play? Give us a scouting report!

I found a newspaper in Louisiana that lists that Prude kid even faster than that (4.30). As coaches like to say, you can't teach speed. And both of those kids are listed as 6-feet tall. If their coaches aren't exaggerating, that's decent size -- not great, but decent. Sign them all. You can't have too many athletes. If we get them all and have too many WR's, make 'em into DB's.

Those guys sound like they have great speed. But remember, a 4.3 in high school is probably a 4.5 on college or pro times. But that's still great.

Rumor has it LSU is really hot for this Prude kid. We may have our work cut out for us trying to get him. Anyone heard an update?
