BTW - before Briles got to Waco, who doesn't think that Baylor was at/near the top of that list?

He was retired and owned a small gas station in IF. Introduced himself and I shook his hand. His hands were huge. Do not remember exactly when but it was probably 50 or more years ago.

Wow. Very cool. Mrydel, you have lived an interesting life.

Why the hell would anybody move to IF? Was he from MN or something? I imagine he could have found a warmer place to buy a gas station.

Not sure why he was there but it does tell you that salaries were not then what they are now. Arguably one of the greatest players of all time and he was pumping gas at a tiny little station in the town known as the coldest spot in the 48 contiguous states.
