Yeah!

Nice to see the DMN is keeping up their journalistic professionalism - "SMU get's"??????

Plus, I still don't believe this has officially been confirmed as an alternate by SMU.

When Chad Morris says "Straight up nasty" I would believe it is official.

Old school flag guy....meaning I don't really go with the flag on any sporting uniforms. Looks ok, but would prefer TX flag on there.

Texas flag would look better - and we need to reach out to the local fan, and that would help us do that.

It really should be a US Flag code violation.

UNITED STATES CODE
TITLE 36
CHAPTER 10
§176. Respect for flag
(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

Wow, new coach does something cool that gets national pub and recruits like and the code police are out. I guess you should tell that to Navy when they put the flag on their uniform. You know the coach will have some old school haters that would like to see the school in 1920 helmets. Unreal.

Slow your roll there, skillet. Don't think it should be done period across the board, and would prefer Texas flag on the helmet, but it's not like I am going to boycott the team if they wear it. Stating an opinion. Now, complaining that the United States Naval Academy is wearing a flag on their official uniform...well...really? If we really wanted to have fun, could point out that as a uniform item for a DoD representative organization, you could read those uniforms as expressly approved by the text of §176 subsection J...you know, the second sentence.

Either way, just a few people saying they thought other options might look better or be better in their eyes. Heaven forbid you get offended by that! Oh, and it is most definitely a US Code violation...but there is no punishment for violating that code.
