Southland conference is already in conference play by that date, so most of them are.

Prairie View A&M and Grambling are at the Cotton Bowl that weekend.

Not FCS but Texas State is at Houston and UTSA is hosting Colorado State.

Yes, conventional wisdom says we won't win many. Just hoping that CM can inspire these kids to play above their heads. North Texas game should give us the clue.

I think JMU was a ranked team last year in FCS. And since June mostly left SMU with FCS players this could end up being a loss. I wish they would have scheduled a bad FCS school like NW State or something.

Just talked with JMU AD Jeff Bourne. He said SMU will pay JMU $425,000 + lodging, busses and meals for the Sept. 26 game.

Now I'll have to have bets with all the Dukes fans up here and I know we won't cover.

So getting an opponent on the schedule this late must really be tough.

Not excited at all about this but I imagine it will be a great game.

They finished #19 last year in FCS. This could either be bad, or horrible.

so Homecoming comes before Parents/Family weekend this year? Wonder if this will be a permanent change or just until we get good enough to feel comfortable we can win a conference home game?

I think it's the only way we control the kickoff time so we took advantage. With the centennial celebrations we want to avoid last year's late night debacle.

Good point. Last season was kind of strange...

Have seen JMU play many times against U. of Delaware. There are generally a very good FCS team with quite a large following (at least in this general area.) Will be interested to see how many will travel to Dallas. Sister-in-law is a grad. Really want us to crush them.
