FCS school Liberty to cover full cost of attendance

Postby East Coast Mustang » Wed Apr 15, 2015 11:10 pm

Hey-o! Jerry Falwell's old school appears to be stepping up to the plate. Ironic considering there's a lot of current FBS schools balking at the potential cost of attendance measures. I bet they'll be in C-USA or the MAC pretty soon.

Let's not start a political/religious debate here, but I've always thought the potential was there for Liberty to be to evangelical Christians what BYU is to Mormons. That article says they have 100,000 (!) online students in addition to 14,000 students on campus. Their administration is very supportive of athletics, and they've upgraded their facilities considerably in recent years.

It wouldn't be for me, but if you're a super strict Christian athlete who wants to be around other people who adhere to your principles, Liberty would probably be on your shortlist. I believe they have a couple guys in the NFL now.
