Impressive Crowd at Spring Game

Postby Stallion » Sat Apr 18, 2015 3:24 pm

probably about 6,000 including people in the endzone and those that took in parts of the game. It was pretty full from endzone to endzone in lower bowl(only). I think it was probably the biggest I've seen at an SMU spring game. A lot of recruits sitting in the stands with their families-hundreds

Tons of recruits and a much bigger fan showing than I would've ever guessed.

Well done by everyone.

Lettermen's tent ran out or name tag stickers, paper plates, and some food. Saw teammates that have not been around for some time.

5-6000. There were a lot of people in the endzone area and I don't know about the suites where they were hosting Mustang Clubbers. People come late -leave early at Spring Games so its hard to tell but it was the biggest I remember

Did Morris really leave early for the Prom?

If so,

1) the HC can't leave the spring game early;
2) the game started at 1pm. Unless Prom starts at 4pm, there was plenty of time to finish the game before getting home for pictures.

He had to catch a flight. And yes, he did.

I couldn't make the game because of lacrosse, but looking at the pictures, I am amazed. Easily 50% more than, if not double, any spring game crowd I can recall.

Morris got on the microphone at the start and thanked everyone and explained football was his job and his family was his life. He said he would have to leave the stadium at 1:30 and he did. I have no problem with this. He had said this much earlier in the spring also.
