Looks the same to me. They should have used that money to give the strength staff or athletic trainers salary increases instead.

Spending a lot of money on some weird stuff. Big $ existing football office renovation now weight room cleanup. I'm all for upgrades but millions of dollars spent on these items?? Maybe they bought a bunch of those gps player tracking systems. Would be interested to see what the big ticket items were.

Those are the latest and greatest workout machines out in the market right now.. better than the dinosaurs June had there. Same equipment used in "Power 5" weight rooms. Some had said our old weight room was a joke so this is much better and refreshing to see. Good job to the new staff in getting us to the 21st century.

The weight room hadn't been updated since it was built nearly 15 years ago and so this is needed, even if only temporary for 1 or 2 seasons while the new one gets built with the IPF.

In reality, the weight room and equipment is really a minor issue. Could have easily waited for the new IPF/weight room.

The big problem was the staff (particularly Mel) and their methods. A large portion of their training has little to do with 'equipment'. A lot of this stuff is done out on the field. A squat is a squat and a power clean is a power clean, regardless of the shiny new equipment.

The diet, methodology, and effort is 90% of the program.

Agree. With that said, it is just another piece of "looking the part". Kind of like why some people care about uniforms. Just the way it is in today's world.

How much innovation has there really been in "weight" machines?

Sometimes, old school equipment is just fine when used properly and shiny new equipment is worthless if not used properly. Currently, I see a lot of FB players working out flipping truck tires. How much real innovation in weight machines has there been?

Frankly, we would have been better off using that money to fire Junesus 1 year earlier.

Well, theoretically this isn't really "wasted" money since we can just moved this fancy modern equipment to the new location, right?

What is new or fancy? Any specifics or just vagueness?

It isn't just a weight room. It's a recruitment tool. Recruits who will spend almost as much time I the weight room as the field will be influenced by the appearance, functionality and modernization of the weight room. We need all the help recruiting possible moving forward.

Exactly. Damn, folks. Anything new and shiny is a GOOD thing. Lock arms.

The fact that some of you are whining about this is just absurd.

It gives them something tangible to show progress to help with recruiting for a 1-11 team (along with the coaches office) until the IPF gets built. Have some vision for a change.
