Probably not mathematically possible for 66% FBS schools to have 6 wins :?:

I think they will get it next year. They said they could not get it all together in time. But they have not given up.

A bowl full of barbecued hog really sounds good now.

People whine and [deleted] and complain, but if your team is in one, you'll tune in. Hell, I'll watch college football all day long, even if I don't have a rooting interest in one of the teams. Also, it's a nice little reward for seniors and gives you a dozen or so extra practices to get the underclassmen more experience

It's mathematically possible because games against FCS teams can count as wins, so with creative scheduling the sky is the limit. SMU wouldn't have gone to the Hawaii bowls without wins over SFA and Montana State.

You just need to separate the Big bowls that are intense and have serious meaning and the baby bowls that are just for fun, and a reward for the hard work the players do and hopefully a fun trip for the fans. No big deal. It is no different than adding one more game to the season, but with some hoopla.

Was going to say the same thing. Plus the creative scheduling has devalued winning seasons. That is why you coaches, especially at big state schools, getting fired after 8 win seasons. Winning seasons won't be good enough anymore as we have seen in our own experience.
