Cowlishaw on HCM/SMU

SMU's a tough deal. They aren't going to allow him to get the players other teams can go after. He can do better than June did at the end, for sure. But let's keep those expectations realistic and to a minimum.

I have never thought Cowlishaw was the sharpest tool in the shed nor found his sports opinions terribly original, but the above ignorant comment in a recent interview made me question if he is back on the sauce again.

I've kindly asked Mr. Cowlishaw for some evidence via social media. I'm positive I'll hear back right away.

F. Cowlishaw. "He can do better than June did in the end?" Like getting obliterated by NTSU then quitting?

Never understood why the musings of a narcissistic, self-proclaimed guru invoke comment.

I would suggest that it's less that, and more our fascination with when the DMN will stop lock-step parroting lazy, untrue narratives without ever offering a single shred of hard evidence.

I don't expect their writers to be our cheerleaders - but dragging this tired old line out could not be more lazy. It is horribly bad work product. I am glad I am not as bad at my job as he is - just for personal pride reasons.

Too many late nights at The Loon for Timmy.

I wonder what they're going to put in where the Loon was. Heard it was going to be another drug store.

SMU takes NCAA minimum qualifiers, has tutors (and I am sure if HCCM though we needed more there would already be more), and has APSM as a major. Looking at basketball, you can also see SMU is not against taking transfers, or taking minimum qualifiers.

Cowlishaw seems to not have updated his SMU file since pre JJ. HCCM has done a great job engaging the media and community, it is just annoying to see there are still so many reporters willfully out of touch with reality.

Did TCU have a perception battle like this in FW during their rise, or is Dallas media just a special kind of ...?

So disappointing, the old Loon was awesome.

My point was exactly STl's...stop trotting out the same tired line about us or actually provide some groundbreaking news report about how the Administration/Faculty really is making our coaches play with one arm tied behind their back.
