expectations for the UH game...

Rinse and repeat...

-punch squarely, firmly and repeatedly in the mouth during first drive.
-no turnovers.
-change defensive scheme to limit UH to a more one dimensional attack.
-play with head-long abandon.
-give the fans, by the end of the game, reason to hope.

None. . .except to keep improving. Likely that won't show up in the score.

Would you focus on forcing Ward to pass or make him run? Attack with blitz to force him on the run?

-give the fans, by the end of the game, reason to hope.
Do you expect many SMU fans to attend? How many attended the TCU game or UNT last year? Is there a Houston area alumni gathering? If there's as many as the 500-800 that ECU brought last week to Ford, that would be impressive for a Thursday night game.

I would like to see us zone with a spy on Ward and focus on stopping the run. Not our defensive mantra though, I don't think. We like to man up.

That may be a big request. UH is tied for 8th in turnovers gained per game at 2.75. Over the last 2 1/2 years we're #1 in turnover margin.

Hoping we compete for the whole game.
We have done this for most of the season.

Unfortunately, Cougar can probably name their own score on this one.

Smu scoring in the 30's would be nice, 40's great, 50's might get us a win.
Will Need a slew of turnovers for a win.

Congrats on Astros beating Yankees BTW.

Not a request...an expectation. Turnovers can be forced, and UH is good at doing that. But SMU needs to practice ball security...most of the turnovers have been 'self-inflicted.'

I remember a game three years ago at Ford where UH had a few self-inflicted turnovers and a few more forced ones.

It's going to be ugly. I hope our guys have enough pride to fight hard until the end.

We will be in a position to pay them back 2012-style soon enough.

The UH video may inspire them to play over their heads like they did against TCU and Baylor.

UH is good but certainly not any better than TCU or Baylor. We should be able to go punch for punch with them for most of the game.

So you're saying there's a chance....

We'll, FIFA just suspended Sepp Blatter so anything is possible!
