As for schools that are G5 our athletic facilities are excellent especially when you consider most new G5 facilities have been funded by student fees at large state public school universities over decades. Private school funding of all academic and athletic facilities is based on alumni donations

TCU IPF, basketball facility and football remodel had all funds in the bank in advance before dirt was moved. This was also when we were still in MWC without big conference dollars. Stallion is right in that it was all done by alumni donations.

Needs to get done. We know it requires donors. Nothing new. We know the process can easily take a good deal of time...but unlike TCU trying to raise their relevance in the late 90's to early 00's before the big conference shake-up, we don't have that time. That is what leads to the fan base being on edge. We know the future of this program as nationally relevant at some point rests on getting the facilities to the top level and giving the programs the best chance possible to plant the seed.

We all want a top quality IPC, and many of us want that same quality of natatorium and compliant track and soccer complex. We have to be patient...but history tells us not to have great expectations. However, history also tells us no one will actually take steps to actually improve the football program...yet we now know that trend has really begun to change. So hopefully we get the facilities, and hopefully we get them in time...because getting them without a resulting upgrade in conference will bring about more issues on campus.
