Is USF the Model?

When USF replaced Skip Holtz with Willie Taggart, their recruiting improved to the point that they were at/near the top of the conference every year. Nevertheless, they suffered through a 2-10 and 4-8 season before this season. Now, they are bowl eligible and have a decent shot at doubling their win total 3 years in a row.

BTW - how is Taggart not in the mix for some of the open P5 jobs?

Taggart did the same thing with a 2-10 WKU team.

I am sure he is on the radar screen of more than one p5 AD.

Funny that some usf fans wanted him on the hot seat at the beginning of the year

I posted a couple of years ago that 25 of the 29 committed recruits in Taggert's 2014 class had P5 offers. That is almost unheard of for a non P5 school. Then in Taggart's 2015 class 15 out of 20 committed recruits had P5 offers. Out of those two classes combined only about 2 or 3 had only a USF offer. You could see that he was building a solid team well before it happened.

We'll have a similar trajectory.

That's true, I remember you posting that USF would be on the rise.

Thanks man. I hope we can do the same. It going to take some time like it did at USF but definitely possible.
