Well, also because Colt Brennan was on heroin for the game

So not only was he playing the Bulldogs, he was chasing the Dragon.

I would hate watch the heck out of Hawaii as I drift asleep/pass out on Saturday nights.

SMU Football Blog wrote:With 7 home games every year June can fix things so he can go to the Hawaii bowl some years. If Hawaii expects more, they will be very disappointed. Then he will start complaining and rig it so he gets paid for not coaching.

I will make the same point I made when SMU hired Tubbs as basketball coach: if your school is the only school in America that would hire a particular coach, should you really consider hiring the guy?

Yes, he can get the schedule the way he wants; he can put the lights where he wants, he can change the uniform the way he wants, he can visit those two guys that do the podcast and talk b s about SMU whenever he wants, it is perfect for him.

I hope he gets it for content value. Normally, I would not care much like I don't really care about Bennett and Cavan. In fact I wish for good things for PB other than Baylor winning.

The slash and burn June pulled is just unforgivable. Some will say let it go with June, he did some good things, but while I agree, his treatment of the fans, the university, his assistant coaches, and, most disappointingly, his players, is worthy of our contempt.

On the bright side, its kind of enjoy dogging him. He is the gift that keeps on giving.

Would probably be a good match...a university and its fans who will give marginal financial support and a coach who will give marginal effort. Nothing wrong with that. He had pretty good records at SMU with that effort so if he can tap back into the pipelines he had established might be able to win 6-8 games a year every 2 or 3 years keeping everyone happy.

The AD in Hawaii is in a no win situation. If he doesn't take June back he will be burned in effigy all over the state. If he does hire him, June will make sure that everything that goes wrong will be laid right back on his doorstep. The Savior cannot ever be at fault.

I'm not a June-hater. His last 2.2 years here were unforgivable, but he did a lot of good things before that. But I honestly look at June/Hawaii 2.0 and think this is a big mistake for both June and for Hawaii. . .probably more for Hawaii. the magic ended the night of the Sugar Bowl beatdown. He won't get it back again.

Hawaii football is a [deleted] program. If they want a HC that is full of [deleted], they deserve each each other

Scheduling them would be a no win situation for SMU.

Interesting. From footballscoop :
Hawaii: Per Stephen Tsai of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, defensive coordinator Tom Mason and defensive grad assistant Randall Joyner have been assigned to administrative duties and defensive backs coach Abraham Elimimian will call the defensive plays on Saturday.

What would that prove? We are in the beginning stages of a major rebuild and could easily lose as we are not Alabama in case you have not noticed. Not at this point and we should not give June the satisfaction of playing SMU.
