It's not a weird thing for a successful HC to coach at a HS position coach. I remember Jackie Sherrill volunteering at Germantown High School outside of Memphis as a Special Teams coach.

That being said, I still say he owes us the any and all monies paid for at least last season.

It'll be the first time he's stepped foot into a high school since he graduated.

June Jones is gone. Rather than appear as Munchkins singing "ding dong, the witch is dead", I simply wish him well.

He did a good job resurrecting what had been a moribund program to a degree of respectability. Then he quit on his job and his players when it didn't translate into a bigger venue. It was poor, tasteless, and wrong...but it is over. We need to let it be over.

We are FAR better suited with the coach and staff that we have now to reach a higher level than we were during the Jones years. No sunshine here, but I see change that is real and quantifiable in SMU football.

Good. I liked Cavan. Glad he's back at his alma mater and got a job he no doubt likes.

Wasn't he an assistant of some sort to the AD at Georgia after Copeland had seen enough of him at SMU?

I thought that he was on their payroll the past few years in a fundraising role.

He was an assistant on Vince Dooley's national champ team. I think he recruited Herschel.

Wait, did he recruit Herschel? Thought I'd never hear that again.

Be on the lookout for Tom Rossley getting a job as a special adviser to the Park Cities YMCA Pee-Wee team.
