There is no question that SMU is hurting for D-line...rumor has it that Medlin will return from an injury to his back...rumor also has it that he has been given a scholarship. It will be interesting to see him perform. Lute may be in trouble, he has put on to much weight and it will be hard for him to be mobile. Watch out for little known reciever out of Mater Dei HS Brian P. Outstanding athlete from an outstanding program...we sure need someone to catch the ball when it hits them in the hands. hopefully luker can throw to more than one reciever.

Brian P? Who's that? A freshman, or was he already on the team?
What can you tell us about him?

As for Lute Croy, if he can plug up the middle and make plays, or force people out to Kevin Aldridge and Markus Pratt on the outside, he can be as heavy as he likes. Besides, he'll shed some pounds in August.

Croy, Birdwell, Post & Blagg (if all can remain healthy) give us some depth we haven't had in years on the defensive interior. If guys like Medlin or even the frosh, Walker, can step up and contribute, that's a bonus. We remain undersized on the DL and in the LB positions, so we need to hope these guys haven't lost any quickness as they work hard to add weigght/muscle.
