VINCE YOUNG BUSTED FOR DUI

Ex-NFL star Vince Young was arrested for DUI in Texas early Monday morning ... and is still behind bars.

TMZ Sports confirmed Young was pulled over in a white Chevy Silverado by Austin cops around midnight. He was booked for DUI at the Travis County jail. Police told KXAN that officers saw Young drifting across lanes while doing 40 to 60 mph.

Police also described Young as being uncooperative once officers pulled him over. He refused to take a breathalyzer. His bail was set at $2,000.

Officers say Young showed several signs of intoxication during the stop -- including, "thick tongued" speech, swaying and mumbling.

Cops also say Young started the "Walk and turn" test -- but refused to continue after losing his balance.

Young returned to his alma mater, University of Texas, in 2014 to work on recruiting.

The UT Law School Criminal Defense Clinic requires every student to learn how to defense a DUI because everyone does it. Why? Everyone drives drunk at some point. For example, I would 90% of the people driving home from Sixth Street wouldn't pass a breath test. Although most people make it home safely and without getting arrested, many people do not.

Sometimes people who are arrested are so far gone that they cannot stand up. Other times, they are barely over the limit and don't realize it. Occasionally, the police arrest sober people who cannot pass the field sobriety test.
