Are We In Trouble At QB With The Loss of D.M. To Memphis?

Postby smumustang1980 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 1:37 pm

Please educate me on the QB situation. As I understand, our only potential superstar at this point is Hicks?
I just can't see Morris running his offense without a highly talented QB.

The loss of 1 player at a single position on one side of fhe ball isn't going to make or break any team. To say his offense cannot run without a highly talented qb would be discrediting the fact that the offense scored 27ppg last year without one and if that one position were aonimportant, I don't think they'd waste so much time recruiting all of the silly little receiver and offensive line types.

If it were the run and shoot I would say possibly yes. But this offense is not as dependent on the QB but we do need a good one.

There's plenty of time to get a "potential superstar" before the 2017 season.

DM wasn't going to play this year anyway.

QB isn't an issue. Pursley-McCarty-Barns-Brown-Wilds is where we need to see improvement

Let's not kid ourselves about how important the QB position is to this offense...or any offense for that matter. Don't know if Moore would have ever turned out to be "the guy". I guess we can wait and see if he ever earns the starting job at Memphis. Time will tell whether we have a guy who will develop into the kind of player we need or whether "the guy" is still a future recruit. At least this staff appears to be building an OL and a stable of RBs & WRs so that will help any QB.

I'm thinking we land Brewer when the time comes

Its a negative when discussing this Class that we didn't get Moore or someone who really fits this offense., It was one of the most important priorities when looking forward to the 2017 season but it can be overcome by a Division 1A transfer this spring or even after Division 1A starters are chosen in Fall practice. Its a great opportunity for someone.

I think everyone is more concerned after Davis graduates. There is an unknown factor there. That being said we could get a highly regarded 2017 QB next class and he could play next year. Deshaun Watson played and started his freshman year.

How important is the QB to the Morris offense? Watch the National Championship game? Watson was a one man show, not even close to the same team or offense without him.

It was the same way in 2014 when Watson was hurt.

Clemson was extremely disappointing on Offense in 2014 when Cliff whatshisname (Stoudt?)had to replace Watson but electric in few games Watson played

Cole stoubt might be the worst p5 qb in history...that's a really bad measuring stick.
