SMU Ponies Up For Community Ticket Program

May 3, 2016

DALLAS (SMU) - This season, SMU will enhance its Community Ticket Program by offering to match one-for-one the first 500 season tickets donated by Mustang fans. If fans respond, 6,000 underprivileged youth and qualified non-profit organization guests will get to enjoy an SMU game this fall.

SMU has partnered with four local organizations to help provide complimentary "donated" tickets to Mustang football games - Big Brothers Big Sisters of DFW, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Military Groups.

Donated purchases are 100% tax-deductible for buyers.

The SMU Athletics Community Ticket Program is in place for fans, alumni and community-conscious individuals to make a difference in the lives of area youth. Each ticket donated positively impacts the life of a child. The experience is invaluable because it gets kids onto a college campus, exposes them to the game day atmosphere at SMU and, as a result, helps build an interest in making a college education a goal.

For more information please contact the SMU Athletics Ticket Sales department at 214-SMU-GAME.

So they're trying to make the non-functioning seat filler program a thing again. OK.

I guess the bus brigade was worth a try... at least June/V.S. made an effort. Gotta give them credit but it was a complete failure.

Have we learned nothing?

Yet another SMU athletic administration failing to grasp the level of apathy the Dallas public has for SMU v. East Carolina....

Needs a team with serious talent and some NFL prospects and no need for dollar draft night. Although I would say that would be great for fans.

Good way to sell more tickets and potentially get people in seats.

Instead of spending more money on a coaching staff they need to hire bands like Maroon 5 to play at halftime.

Guaranteed sell-out. Bring in the Stones for the blue hairs.

Why don't we fly in a regionally popular Hawaiian crooner to sing the national anthem?
