Zach Wood likes the idea of staying near home. After growing up in nearby Rowlett, he stayed close to home when he chose to play for SMU. Now he's hoping for another chance to stay near home: Wood spent the weekend working out with the Dallas Cowboys as a defensive tackle and deep snapper, and visited only with PonyFans.com to discuss his chances of earning a spot with the team he grew up watching.

In the Cowboys' official announcement, Wood is listed as a defensive end, not as a deep snapper (and not as both). So maybe this means he gets a shot at both?
