Let's see this for what it is:

1. He's trying to get UH some national attention;

2. He's addressing a rotary club and imploring them to buy season tickets if they're "true Houstonians";

3. Houston has been relevant for 1-2 years and if he does it again and a power 5 school comes calling, he's gone. So much for his love to the school;

4. UH is a public school and its funding mechanism is different than a school like SMU. Even with an enrollment of 42k, and grads staying in Houston, they have a half empty stadium and shameful basketball attendance;

5. He's telling the truth and we should accept it;

6. Last, when was the last time you were in a conversation and someone said "I went to UH" and anyone responded with, "wow, really?"
