Saints & Sterling Moore

Postby ponyte » Tue Sep 27, 2016 8:48 am

I went to the Saints game last night and one of the starting Corners was Sterling Moore. He was picked up off waivers a week before the opening game and wasn't activated till after the first game. So in less than a month he went from unemployed to starting.

He did a great job as very few times did they throw his way and he did break up one of the passes his way. It was nice to hear the announcement of the starters with at least one with "Southern Methodist'.

So glad he's a Saint. Never understood why he's never gotten a longer term contract with a team, as each time I've seen him play, he's been absolutely solid.

Agree, don't understand it. Buffalo let him go in their last cut this past preseason. That is just complete ineptness on Buffalo's part.

Certainly I (we) are all happy for Sterling. But, I have never seen someone get cut as a camp invite, get p/u'd, and start for the team that picked him up as often as Sterling.

Don't forget that two other Ponies appeared: Thomas Morestead for the Saints, who did his usual excellent punting and placeholding, and Aldrick Robinson for the Falcons, who caught at least one pass, IIRC.

Sterling also made a TD saving tackle on the 4 yard line when a RB broke loose on a 40 yard run.He came all the way across the field to run him down just before the goal line.
