Our fans and the city of Dallas will respond when we get some success that is better than the four worst bowls and 6 win seasons. Bet on it.

I guess you haven't ever been to Moody.

Great, all it will take for us to get out of the "four worst bowls" is to win 11/12 games and get to the Access Bowl. Until then everyone will totally understand that we have good excuses for our lousy attendance.

there is a gap the size of the grand canyon between where we have been and getting an access bowl.

When we are relevant they will come. Its been completely proven in basketball. We haven't been relevant in football since 1983, so when Chad gets this rolling you will finally get it.

What I get is that we have to perform incredibly well every year just to get our own fans to fill a tiny stadium and anything less than that and we're SOL. What a fanbase.

TCU went through three bumps.

1) when they started winning consistently
2) When they got LT and were around the 10 win per season mark for several years in a row.
3) When they got into the big 12.

At bump number 1, they were still getting around 20K per game. If we get to the point where we win consistently playing good football, SMU fans will fill half the stadium. We saw a bump but not a huge one during the bowl game run under June because our conference wasn't that great and people didn't think our team was that great.

Number 2 is when they started pulling in 30K regularly. IMHO I think the AAC is a good enough conference that if we are a top level team in the conference battling for the championship, we will get to that 25-30K point. If we started getting ranked I think we would get close to selling the place out.

At point have we performed incredibly well in the last 35 years? You do realize that SMU has not EVER had a nationally relevant football program to ANYONE under the age of 45 - at least that they can remember? What is amazing is not that we have empty seats against nobody schools - it is that we have anyone at all still coming! That is a testament to loyalty and eternal hope ,and the fact that a great number of us really love this place.

We are starting to see what happens when someone with Chad's enthusiasm, skills and hard work sets their mind to something. The crowds (i.e. Dallas sports fans) will follow when they see it is consistent.

Watch and learn.

Key is to make the local sports fans into SMU fans. That's what TCU did...a lot of people in TCUs stadium aren't alums they're Ft Worth locals. Same for BU.
