pretty good for a Defensive Coordinator that doesn't know what is doing-maybe we keep him one more year. I have a feeling he'll get better every year

I guess most of those talking about SMU having an inexperienced coaching staff have been quieted or have deflected to another subject.

I guess having DBs and linebackers horribly out of position all year really wasn't part of his defensive plan last year.

Also happily eating crow. Or maybe something changed. Either way, masterful job coach!

Awesome job and well deserved, he's always had his guys show up each week. I can't wait for the future when he gets loads of talent.

The biggest change this year from last IMO has been the play of the DBs. I might have underrated the play last year because I don't recall seeing that much improvement in one year on ANY team (and I'm an old guy and an ex coach). All year I have been VERY impressed with them. they are playing much tighter with fewer mistakes. Of course what to they have... 13 or 14 interceptions now? Something like that. They only had 5 all last year. And now the defensive line is looking like tough guys. LOVE IT! Oh Hail to you Coach Van Malone!
