If you are blaming Turner-you are blaming the Board who approves the budget and controls the financial strings of the university.

Tweet says Morris told the team he wasn't going.

Heard from who?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Isn't this a no contact period. Off campus recruiting resumes early Monday morning

He's going to take as many recruits as he wants with him to Baylor. Only question is how many.

I think he is going to try to re-contact the entire Texas Top 100- not just SMU recruits-and try to shake some big names loose. Every Texas school is somewhat in turmoil right now-TCU maybe in the least turmoil but has had a poor season. Its not like these are cold calls-he's been recruiting most of them for years. Than he might circle back around to SMU recruits if he's not successful-I think he'll end up with a shockingly good class

This is where the SMU donors, boosters, and higher-ups can make a resounding commitment to SMU football. Pony up here to retain Chad. Otherwise, SMU football is done.

I have been here before and my business world is much less volatile than coaching. I actually accepted a job about 15 years ago from a competitor and said I would not renege. My employer came back with an offer I could not refuse and I reneged. I felt guilty towards the bank offering but they just laughed and said they knew my bank would not let me go.

So I guess there is always a chance for backtracking.
