I think he stays now

Just hope he stays long enough to get facility upgrades and not just one more year and done. I think HCCM will do well and look forward to a bowl game next year.

I'm hoping he sticks around at least 3 more seasons and remains committed to recruiting and selling the program. If he does that, we will win and go bowling even if he turns out to be a mediocre game day coach.

I think he stays now, too. And I think that's best for us, at least in the short run. What he needs to tell recruits is that, "Hey, I considered my options and determined that SMU is best for me. And I think that's what you should do, too. "

I hope he stays one more year then bolts. Beef up the roster and then let someone come in who can coach on game days

I think he stays too. If reports that he told the team he's staying are true it means (to me) that he knew he wasn't going to Baylor then but still needed some time to nick SMU for the raise and the bennies.

So, if Morris stays...who goes? Does the entire assembled mass of assistants return? So many calling for the ST coach's head (or at least one of them), but playing with castoffs on that squad limited any potential for success. The rising tide of talent with another recruiting class entering will lift even ST players and create a better base. Just wondering because I know there would be many clamoring for scalps after the disaster that was Memphis and Navy.

We do not have a ST coach, just an advisor.

Exactly - and it shows.

I still can't believe how bad our teams were this season. Close to the worst I have ever seen.

Going to be tough to beef up the roster when recruits know you are only trying to stay one more year. But who knows. We'll see how the 2018 class goes. We could lose a lot of the class if he bolts next year but if the class is not very good then it may not matter or the new coach may not want them anyway. Just something to think about.

I agree. The return units for smu were awful. Never seen such poor blocking on KO returns.

At least Chad addressed it by game 10, as in finally admitting there was a problem

You must have blocked out 2014. Our kickoff returns were common and awful. Luckily, the horrible SMU offense limited the number of kickoff returns (against us) to a minimum.
