Good news is that he better have a big year next year because I do not think Sumlin can last another year. Many more Memphis and Navy games and Aggie will not come calling.

Is it not blatantly obvious to everyone? Chad just squeezed SMU for more $$$, and there is a 99% chance he moves on to TAMU after next season. The schedule makes a 7-8 win season very realistic, and he will be much more palatable after finally having a decent season. If it were up to the Aggie faithful, Sumlin would already be gone......they literally hate the guy. The only reason he gets 1 more year is because of the current enormous buyout. After he has an even worse season next year, the big $ alum will have to 'Pony Up' and eat the remainder of the buyout, thus opening the door for their favorite son/alum Chad to swoop in and save the day.
Write it down now. Same thing I told everyone at the beginning of this year.
I'll come back next year, on this day, to tell everyone I told you so.

I think this is all about the BOR/ Mack Rhoades managing expectations. People here seem pretty split about Chad Morris coming here. I have already seen a few posters that were anti-Morris now pining for him because they believe the BOR has screwed this up so badly that they believe nobody else will take the job. I still think immediately after the WV game is over, Baylor will have their dog and pony show and Mack Rhoades will introduce Chad Morris as our next head coach. I honestly believe we are just being played by Baylor right now. Nothing different that what has been going on since 5/29.

If they fire Sumlin I don't think the Aggies hire a coach that has only one winning season in 3 years. And they are mad at Sumlin and he won 8 games this year while in the SEC. Why would they hire a guy that wins 8 games in the AAC.

Is Chad that much better than Fedora? Larry is from College Station but played at Austin College. He is signed with UNC through 2022 and seems like a person of integrity. He coached USM in the Hawaii Bowl after accepting the UNC job and apparently turned down UTenn after he was outed.

The only way I see Chad getting to A&M is if he has a 10+ win season which is possible. That will be great for both parties because it will finally give our fans something to be proud of and future coach to think he can really take off with and for Chad to get to A&M.

All of the coaches think they are getting 10 wins next season. Chad will go to A&M at that time. Part of this positioning was to set things up better for his assistants so that they would be taken care of if he leaves next year and can't take everyone along.

Since this is not CUSA and the most all teams in the conference are reloading next year and have good coaches what 10 games do you think are automatic wins for SMU?
