actually very few Houston fans appear to want anything to do with him

maybe AD June Jones will hire him at St Louie High School when his 72 year old coach retires

Houston has too many good alternatives to mess with that. No need to take any risks of that nature on this hire.

There is just no reason for any University Pres to take that chance. I think he is done.

I'd say he needs to go to the NFL as a coordinator but the NFL has issues with rape and sexual assault itself. If he can somehow find his way as an OC onto a team, any team, he may be able to wait out the scandal itself, but I don't know if that's possible right now.
That, and he's no spring chicken - isn't he like in his 60's? This may be it for him.

Briles should so have a show cause from the NCAA.

Speaking of Fertitta, someone really should tell him to keep his mouth shut:
The school is looking to fill after Tom Herman left for the University of Texas after two years and a 22-4 record as head coach of the Coogs. Herman is the third coach to have a winning record with the school to jump to a power five conference school in the state of Texas in the last 10 years. Fertitta is determined to stop that trend.

“It’s alright, it’s business, but I’m not going to accept it this time,” Fertitta told the Triple Threat about coaches leaving for bigger schools. “Internally we’re talking about, we’re not going to let someone come in here…I’m not going to let them go 10-2 next year and somebody steal them. I don’t care if there is a football coach out there listening to this, you’re not going to get your contract bought out for a couple of million dollars by a bigger school and be gone. It’s going to be a big enough number, you’re going to have to have won a national championship if they want you, because they’ll pay anything.”

Guess he didn't realize that Coog High is still in a G5 conference, and even if their king of the midgets right now, they're still midgets. Nobody looking to build a career is going to get themselves perpetually stuck in 7-11 limbo.

“This whole college football, which the agents started a couple of years ago,” Fertitta continued, “(the school) can sign you to a five-year contract and if we fire you, we have to pay you. But if you decide to quit, (the school) only gets a little bit buyout. That isn’t happening again at the University of Houston.”

No, numbnuts, it started when ego-maniacle boosters like yourself started paying coaches millions of dollars a year. You've got nobody to blame but yourself for turning it into a bidding war on all levels.

exactly. And its going to be even more interested when the networks pull back their TV dollars which seems likely as viewership has dropped. Then we will see who has the staying power and who doesn't.

So what happens if UH poaches another schools coach? That's OK?

UH let both Herman and Sumlin coach their bowl games before coming to UH. Briles, Sumlin, and Herman didn't coach the UH bowl game when they left. Maybe we're done being the only one who allows coaches to stay
